How We Treat
Surgery
Toenail Surgery
A nail avulsion is a minor surgical procedure performed to remove part or all of a toenail that has become painful, infected, or chronically ingrown. By carefully removing the affected portion of the nail, pressure and irritation are relieved, allowing the toe to heal properly.

This procedure is typically done under local anesthesia, so patients remain comfortable throughout. Depending on the case, a chemical may be applied to prevent regrowth of the problematic section, reducing the chance of recurrence. Recovery is quick, with most patients able to walk immediately after treatment.

Tenotomy surgery
Tenotomy surgery is a minimally invasive procedure used to correct painful toe deformities, such as hammertoes or claw toes. By carefully releasing or lengthening a tight tendon, the toe is allowed to straighten, relieving pressure and reducing discomfort.

This quick, outpatient procedure is performed under local anesthesia, meaning patients remain comfortable and experience little to no downtime. Tenotomy surgery is often recommended when conservative treatments—such as footwear changes, orthotics, or padding—no longer provide relief.
